Cost - Centerforce Clutch I Installation

When I finally set out to rebuild the engine in the Project Orange Jeep, I wanted
to replace the clutch. This is because when I pulled the engine out of the engine and started to remove the clutch
assembly to put the engine on the engine stand, I noticed that the clutch was worn more then I wanted it to be.
Since replacing the clutch when the engine is out of the vehicle is a lot easier then when it is in, I figured that
it would be a good time to do this.
I researched what it would take to get the new setup and where I could find it for a good price. I was going to
need a pressure plate, a clutch disc, the throwout bearing, pilot bushing, and finally an alignment tool to get
it properly lined up with the flywheel. Also I bought a pilot bushing removal tool. This is not necessary, but
makes life a lot easier when trying to remove the pilot bushing.
The kit was ordered up from Quadratec as
they were found to be the least expensive ones I could find on the Internet. In a few days the parts arrived. I
was able to order up a kit that had the 4 parts that I needed and then was able to get the pilot bushing removal
and bushing alignment tool separately.

Cost - Offset

| Since replacing clutch hardware rarely sees the ability to reuse or sell the old
parts, there is no offset for this project, however, I did keep all the parts in case anyone is going to need
a part for an old trail rig or perhaps a spare. These aren't in the greatest of shape, but they could be used
for a cheap build-up or an emergency trail fix.

Conclusions

The total amount does not include shipping. If I remember correctly it was a flat
amount of around $25.00 since the parts were a little heavy. Either way, you are looking at under $350.00 all
said and done to remove the old setup and put the new one in.
The total time should be around 4 hours all said and done. That being said, I took the time to clean out the
transmission very well and replace the springs and clutch pivot ball. This wasn't included in the cost since
it was minimal. Some time was also taken to tap the holes for the bell housing as it was full of dirt and grime
and this would allow for easier assembly when it was all said and done.
