Cost - Mopar Authentic Grille Shell Installation

When I got the Jeep, the grille shell that was on the Jeep was original as were the light setups
and finally there was a chrome grille shell overlay on the Jeep that gave the Jeep a look that I liked, however, after going to
Jeep shows and seeing the mono-colored front ends, I tended to lean in that direction.
So, it was decided to go with a different setup. I noticed that the aftermarket started crawling with authorized
reproductions, so I decided to check them out. Everyone was selling them and the quality seemed to be right in line with the
originals. They are in fact factory reproductions, so I ordered one up and I was on my way to having a new grille shell that
would be painted the color of the Jeep and adorned with new parking lights and a headlight upgrade to see better at night.
The parts were ordered up from Krage Motor Sports as
they were found to be the cheapest ones I could find on the Internet. In a few days the parts arrived.

Total Time:
6 Hours
NOTE: This has to be broken down into pre-fitting time and then time to get the paint and such done.
It took about 2 hours of test fitting and drilling to get the grille shell on the Jeep before it went to paint.
It took about 2 weeks of getting the paint done and waiting for it to come in and then finally 2 more hours to get it all
assembled and ready to go on the Jeep.

Cost - Offset

I guess you could say that there would have been an offset on this project by selling the
original grille shell, radiator overflow and light setups, however, if you have read through the site, I lost the radiator
bottle while driving to a Jeep show, so that couldn't be sold. The grille shell and parking lights are going to be given to
the free Jeep project as a donation to the cause, and finally the headlight conversion requires the use of the headlight
buckets, so that can't be counted. One of the headlight bulbs from the old setup was broken and the other is being saved as a
spare for Jen's Jeep or any other Jeep that might need it in the future.
So, their would have been some offset on the total cost of this, however, there is no cost offset that can be justified here.

Conclusions

The total time should be around 6 hours all said and done for installation. That being said,
some time was spent fitting to get everything to line up right. You might get lucky and have everything go smoother then
I did. I also spent a lot of time researching the cheapest prices as well.
Finally, the time it took to get the grille shell back from paint was not figured into the final calculations, so that can be
added or subtracted, your call.
