| Cost - Hood Lift |
| |
When I was finishing up the build on the Project Yellow Jeep, I was trying to get
the hood positioned correctly with the hood support on the ear of the grille shell and I loosened it too much and
thus, the hood crashed down on my nose. I didn't want this to happen again when I worked on the Orange Jeep, so
I set out to research what I could use to make sure this didn't happen again. I settled on a hood lift kit and
looked to see where I could get it for the cheapest price possible.
The kit was ordered up from 4wd.com as
they were found to be the least expensive ones I could find on the Internet. In a few days the parts arrived.

| Cost - Offset |
| |
| Since this was a brand new installation in an area that replaced the existing
hardware, there was no offset for this project. I plan on using the existing hardware on the Project
Free Jeep, as the hood I was able to obtain does not currently have a setup on it that will allow for the hood
to be propped open.

| Conclusions |
| |
| The total time should be around 2 hours all said and done. That being said,
it is best to do this with 2 people so you can remove the hood and not have to do all the work on the Jeep itself.
This is especially true if you have a lifted Jeep as reaching the areas that will need to be drilled becomes
difficult.
