Hints - Starting the Jeep in Gear

When you finish up a project like removing most of the Jeep insides and putting in a new dash, rewiring it and such you are anxious to get the Jeep going. Make sure you don't have the Jeep in gear or you will do some serious damage to the Jeep

The installer was anxious to get the Jeep started and with the Jeep in gear, it lurched backwards and took out the hood that hadn't been put back on the Jeep yet. The Jeep then pushed the hood into the garage door and caused a whole lot of damage.

Bottom line: Make sure the Jeep is out of gear before you attempt to start it.
