NOTE: There are some prices that were left blank intentionally due to
the fact that they came with the original $1700.00 price tag. These items have a cost, but will be factored
into the final price of the rig depending on the customization required.
A perfectionist has built this Jeep and no stone has been left unturned.
The frame was POR-15 by the previous owner and it has been gone over and there are no cracks or weak points
that can be seen.
The frame ears are all strong and the ones that weren’t were cut out and replaced. This Jeep frame appears
to be straight as an arrow and there are no repair marks that can be seen, so it assumed to be not hit, but
we can run a Carfax report at our cost if you are interested in making a deal.
The previous owner rebuilt the motor and from what we can tell since we got it up and running, it is fresh and
has plenty of power. The clutch is new as well and it is very tight. There is some adjustment that is needed
but that will be done when we start to break in the Jeep. There is a brand new alternator as well as
an aluminum valve cover on the motor, not to mention the painless wiring kit and rebuilt radiator. From what
the P.O. said, the springs were replaced with stock springs and the shocks are all brand new. The Jeep sports a
brand new exhaust from bow to stern as well as the new Weber carburetor that seems to be tuned almost perfectly.
A little more fine tuning and the Jeep should be 100%
The rear axle is the AMC 20 and the front axle is the Dana 30. There is a 5-speed manual transmission in the
Jeep and the transfer case is the Dana 300. The original rims were determined to be no good, so a set of black
15x8 Cragar rims were orderd up and a set of 31x11.5x15 Wrangler MT/R's were mounted up with about 70% tread.
The seats as well as the other interior pieces are vintage 1985 CJ-7 and are in decent shape. There is a new
set of seat belts that are from a 1991 Wrangler vintage and it comes with 3-point seat belts for the front and
2-point for the rear.
This is everything as I can remember it and what is in the Jeep currently. If you are interested in this,
email me with an offer and we can talk. Please don’t waste my time with $2000.00 offers. Simply put, the Jeep
was purchased for $1700.00 with all the parts that you see in the initial pictures. A bunch of the parts were
sold on eBay to offset the cost, however, a lot of new items were purchased to complete the buildup as well
as a lot of cutting, grinding, and sanding supplies. You can see their prices above. There is over 325+
hours put into this Jeep by the time it is completed and the paint job alone with the body work is well
over $2000.00. So do the math (at least $9,000.00) and see if this is something that you want to get into.
When it is completed, you will probably not find a better 1985 CJ-7 in the east coast salt belt. It has been
in the garage for the past few years and through the entire time of the current rebuild.
This Jeep would make a great cruiser in the summer and has all the vintage looks of the CJ-7 with a little
more attitude. As always, it is a Jeep and is totally capable off-road and could be more so if you would
like it with larger tires, a lift, a locker, a winch, or anything else you desire, we can do it. Just name
your poison and we can customize it for you... AFTER we get a deposit.
