(02.23.13) The suspension is finally DONE! I can't even beging to tell you
what I found today with the last 2 body mount bolts, so as my Mom used to say, if you don't have anything nice
to say, don't say anything at all... I will do that. The good news, is with clean hands, I was able to move
down the inspection sticker and put on the rearview mirror that was supposed to be there, but wasn't. It is in
place and you can see behind you now.

I spent 2 hours with those body mount bolts, but all that is done and I moved onto
putting the Jeep back down again on all 4's and finally looking at what else is to be done. I have a picture of
the dash knobs to be installed, the blinker, which we have to remove the steering wheel, and then finally the clutch
assembly and the fuel pump gasket. After that, we are ready for a test drive, been a long time coming.

(02.24.13) I started working on the Jeep today and wanted to get the dash and the
blinker squared away before I got really dirty doing the clutch linkage and tightening up all the body mount bolts
and the rest of the suspension components. I got about 95% done. The new blinker arm is in place and does really
well, and 5 out of thd 6 knobs are in place, minust he windshield wipers. Basically I was trying to get the knob
off and it broke apart in my hand. It was original and it was pretty rusty, so better now than later, I got an
ebay buy-it-now for $13, I can't complain.
I then moved onto the clutch linkage. It is all in place, I am just not sure about the adjustment. I have to
do that on a non-snowy day. We got probalby 8-9" today and I had to clean that up. I also did a neighbors
driveway, so that took some time. I figure that when the windshield wiper switch comes in, I will do that and the
fuel pump gasket. The final piece of the puzzle is the transmission tunnel. It was trashed and I can't save it.
I found a used replacemetn one as well as the proper shift knob. I will do all this, plus an oil change next
weekend. I looked at the air filter and that is in great shape, so all in all, I hope to be done with this (minus
the white wagon wheels and rubber) by the end of next weekend.

(03.01.13) I have some parts starting to trickle in to help finish up the last
few things on the Jeep before starting to work on the rims so I can get the new(used) tires mounted up and call
this phase of the project done. I was able to get a great set of General Grabber AT2 tires locally, which saved
a lot of time/energy driving all over to locate a set.
Last night I had an hour, so I put on the transmission tunnel to make sure it fit and cleared. It fits fine and
it is much nicer than the one that was in there that was hacked up and trashed, but there is a problem with the
shifter itself. The previous owner heated it up and bend it to fit the 3" body lift. I compared to my CJ5 and
my wife's and sure enough, it is bad. You can see the white spot on the base of the shifter where this was
done. Also, the retainer for the boot is missing, so I have to find one of those. I swapped flasher as the
hazard's weren't working. In fact, when you turned them on and pressed the brake pedal, the parking lights came
on. So, with a little swapping and figuring out, I have the turn signals and the hazard lights working again. The
transmission tunel cover could stand to be sanded and re-finished, but that will have to wait for another time.
I then took it out for a mini test drive in the driveway. The lights are incredibly bright with the upgrade and
the clutch linkage was adjusted a little bit. All in all, a productive hour. I am just waiting on a few more
parts to finish up the dash and the shifters. I also have to do an oil change and swap out the fuel pump gasket
which is seeping gas a bit.

(03.03.13) Between the last couple of days, I was able to get a few things done.
Mainly I am trying to strip the layer of crappy paint off the rims, but I was able to change the oil and put
the dash back together for the most part. The new wiper motor switch is also in place and functional. The rims
are coming out very nicely... they are a bit more glossy white than stock, but in a few weeks time, they will be
tamed with road dirt. The stripper works well, but it is a mess. I also needed a wire brush and sandpaper to clean
these thigns up.
